Sophie Hinners (Germany) won the sporting highlight of the Longines Global Champions Tour Vienna | Schloss Schönbrunn. In the 1.60-meter Grand Prix, the pair prevailed in a jump-off on Sunday evening in front of sold-out stands in the Ehrenhof of Schönbrunn Palace. Earlier, the decisions in the CSI2* Grand Prix and the U25 Grand Prix were already made – with strong Austrian performances.

The native of Tyrol, who currently lives in Linz and rides for Lower Austria (Reitclub St. Patrick in Hetzmannsdorf/Bezirk Korneuburg), won the Austrian national championship in the General Class in 2024 and 2025 with Chappeloup. This was her first title defense as a woman since the start of the list of winners published by the OEPS in 1972.

Twelve selected warm-blooded foals, a strikingly drawn stallion foal as a special eye-catcher, and a Shetland pony for charity: At the first foal auction as part of the Longines Global Champions Tour Vienna | Schloss Schönbrunn, the next generation came into focus on Saturday. The highest price of the evening was achieved for the stallion foal by J-Nius V.V. Z from the damline Kasamona von Kasanova de la Pomme: 75,000 euros was paid for it. A special moment was provided by the Shetland pony Kaiser Franz Joseph: All proceeds from its auction, amounting to 24,000 euros, go to the Children's Hospice Lichtblickhof.

World-class sport in two disciplines dominated Saturday at the Longines Global Champions Tour Vienna | Schloss Schönbrunn: In the 5-star show jumping competition, Katrin Eckermann (Germany) secured victory with Chao Lee in the main event over 1.50 meters. In the evening, Isabell Werth (Germany) with Viva Gold OLD decided the first international dressage competition powered by Palm Beach Motor Yachts in the Ehrenhof of Schloss Schönbrunn. Already the day before, the eight-time Olympic champion showed a strong performance. For Austria, especially Katharina Rhomberg (Vorarlberg) and Bianca Babanitz (Burgenland) delivered strong performances.
